Spotify and other music-streaming services offer millions of songs at your fingertips—as long as you have an internet connection. Download those tracks to your device for offline listening if you need to save data or listen to a playlist on a plane or during a commute with plenty of dead zones (when we’re doing that again).

Spotify Premium subscribers can download up to 10,000 songs on a maximum of five devices. Spotify’s free, ad-supported tier allows you to download podcasts on your phone or tablet.

How to Download Songs on Spotify on IOS

Navigate to Your Library and select the playlist you wish to download. Tap the download button, which looks like a little circle with an arrow in the center.

Spotify will begin downloading all of the tracks on your device. Both tracks and playlists will be indicated with a green version of the download icon once they have been downloaded. Simply play downloaded music from Your Library in the same way you would if they were streaming.

How to Save Music From Spotify on the Desktop

Spotify only allows you to download playlists on the desktop, not albums or podcasts.

Why am I unable to Download songs from Spotify?

There might be several reasons why you can’t download songs from Spotify. Here’s why you could have a problem.

  • You do not have a Spotify Premium subscription. Check that you are still subscribing to Spotify Premium and that your membership hasn’t expired. You cannot download songs from Spotify if you are not presently a subscriber.
  • Examine your internet connection. Check that your internet connection is operational so that you may download files from it.
  • Make sure you have adequate room. You can’t download songs from Spotify if you don’t have enough space on your computer or smartphone. Make space for your music.
  • You have an excessive number of devices. Songs may only be downloaded to a maximum of five devices. If you attempt to download on a sixth device, Spotify will automatically erase downloads from the device you use the least.
  • Your download limit has been reached. Your account allows you to download a maximum of 10,000 songs. If you reach the limit, you will have to delete earlier music.
